The Global DevOps Engineering Organization is responsible for overall DevSecOps enablement and play a key role in successful implementation of AIG's product and features to our customers. We deliver CICD services through collaboration, planning, engagement and execution working closely with diverse teams including Application Delivery, Business Operations, Technology Support and Product Management. Our practice will need expertise that focuses Work item mgmt., Source Management, Quality & Security gating, Compliance and continuous delivery best practices and enable programs working with multi-disciplinary teams and global execution model. Technical competency in Leadership combined with OKR based execution approach will ensure forward thinking, continual innovation and ability to adopt to disruptive technology such as Micro-Services, Cloud Native, Omni Channel products and operating models with, CI|CD Enablement, Cloud Operating experience and Stakeholder management as the basic premise.

About the role

The DevOps Engineering Manager is critical to the success of strategic initiatives delivery enablement. In addition to overall delivery management capabilities is required to have a deep understanding of DevOps practices and principles, solutions, frameworks and continuous delivery capabilities. The specialization is important as this capability serves as Thought Leaders in addition to management skills to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with market trends and capabilities.

What you need to know:

  • Responsible and accountable for the overall CICD enablement, issue escalation and closure; strategic direction and the implementation of the GI target operating model and governance.
  • Ability to lead one or multiple strategic initiatives in a distributed multi-vendor environment.
  • Work closely across peer group to manage and implement all aspects of DevOps governance including interface with senior executives/CIOs, program management teams, finance, and sourcing.
  • Focus on continuously improving the operating efficiency through value streaming and pipeline data insights.
  • Actively manage SOW, work orders and global resource pool to meet DevOps budget construct.
  • Implement organizational model, governance and engagement processes to support the continuous delivery enablement.
  • Provide strong monitoring and oversight of a distributed organization in collaboration with peers and strategic sourcing partners.
  • Great attention to detail and strategic thinking with flexibility to oversee simultaneous programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps tool chain such as the Rally, Jenkins, Selenium, Java, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Github Actions.
  • Drive technical strategy for test automation framework and work with peers to implement that strategy. Research, evaluate, and implement sustainable and “at scale” CICD practices.
  • Track overall progress and provide regular status updates to executive management and business unit CIO.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
  • Define CICD strategy for emerging technology.
  • Candidate should have experience with T&M, fixed price and managed service engagement models with 3rd party vendors.
  • Individual must be a strong contributor to solution architecture (test solutions), continuous testing, and configuration management, digital, application testing (non-functional).

What we’re looking for:

  • Implementation of CICD using various industry-standard commercial tools (Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, SONARQUBE, LIQUIBASE, Docker, AWS container services).
  • Document, justify, and validate implementation details with customer-focused team.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Communicate and coordinate with technical audiences and Sr Leadership on DevOps enablement and software engineering practices
  • Organizes and leads release readiness through automation
  • Work closely with other Engineering leaders to cast and execute upon a vision for CICD processes and tooling that will maximize quality and increase delivery velocity
  • Define standards for CICD, documentation, and DevOps best practices.
  • Lead and develop multiple DevOps engineering teams.
  • Critically evaluate current CICD processes and tools to improve the product engineering and delivery experience.
  • Define initiatives to improve CICD infrastructure, reduce technical debt, and minimize system complexity.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in CICD technologies and open-source frameworks.
  • Evangelize CICD platform and product capabilities with internal departments.
  • 8+ years DevOps engineering experience.
  • 8+ years at Architect level with Infrastructure as code tools, such as Ansible (preferred) or Chef.
  • 8+ years of experience in Cloud native development or IaC.
