Orbital is rolling out FTTP across Kent and is looking for motivated Engineers to support and join our team. The right candidates will be working within our new PIA delivery team to build our FTTP network across the county.

The most suitable candidates will have previously worked for fibre, telecoms or utility companies or a similar industry / background.

Ex Service Personal with the right attributes also most welcome to apply.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work on the fibre-optic infrastructure and civils for Fibre FTTP network delivery, either within the Overhead and Underground build including customer connection

• Completing fibre jointing and router installation to the end customer

• Undertake works to set job packs & network design

• Undertaking Test Rod & Roping / Cabling within the Openreach network.

• Locate blockages and establish clear routes.

• Produce A55's in consultation with the Surveyor.

• Completion and submission of all necessary documentation

• Compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality Control & Environmental policies

• Civils avoidance detection and mapping

• Installation of cables, sub duct UG & OH

• Installation of fibre nodes UG & OH

• Jointing / Splicing UG & OH

Key Attributes:

• Confidence Working at Heights on Poles OH & UG Chambers, Ducts etc

• Experience Working with Ladders

• Experience of using Safety Equipment

• Good Knowledge of using PC/Laptop & Software Packages

• Field based H&S understanding

• Use of plant, power tools and all associated hand tools required within the industry

• Good Understanding of Fibre and Civil Networks

• Experience or Understanding of using and reporting via GIS Portal / PIA

• Knowledge of the deployment methods used within Telecoms

• Experience or Good Understanding of FTTP Both or either OH and UG pulled fibre infrastructure

• Experience or Good Understanding of the end-to-end FTTP network process & supporting systems

• Ideally Qualified NRSWA Unit 2 & PIA SA001 SA002 S7 & S8 or an understanding of (Specific accreditation training can be provided if required)

• Knowledge of Street Manager permit working processes
