As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and dedicated engineers that pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.

 

This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

 

This position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule after the initial training period is complete.  Tasks for this position must be performed largely on-site but may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule for later assignments.  

 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with internal project team and vendors to design and implement network environments for the Western Range. 
  • Develop process and procedures for administering and supporting new network environments. 
  • Design, build, configure and maintain network environment including routers, switches, physical firewalls, virtual firewalls, load balancers, network security devices and other network equipment.  
  • Supervise subcontractors and vendors performing installations and configurations 
  • Provide hands on support for network environment. 
  • Design, develop and test integrated network solutions.
  • Facilitate the engineering process by preparing and conducting analyses of engineering data utilizing common and custom tools.
  • Develop documentation, processes, and procedures to facilitate the delivery of engineering products.
  • Conduct vendor analyses and procurement specifications.
  • Analyze, prepare, and package engineering data for reports and presentations.
  • Present the results of analyses to management and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, math orother STEM-related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an engineering, data analysis, or other networking related discipline
  • Experience with the engineering development process, preferably in an engineering related field
  • Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software, and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas

 Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301 CCNA) or ability to obtain within (6) months of hire date
  • CompTIA Security+ 
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of time (to Pillar Point, CA)
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

The salary range for this role is $83,200 to $128,000; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
