THE ROLE: Senior Backend Developer
THE LOCATION: Calgary, AB
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with developers and designers to create exciting new features and elegant, user-friendly pages
- Write clean, testable, reliable, and sustainable code
- Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of scalable backend systems
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Quickly learn and integrate new technologies, frameworks, and concepts
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Participate in routine stand-ups, code reviews, and testing sessions

Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in engineering or computer science would be an asset
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a technology or software company
- Must have experience with the following technologies:
- Python, Django or similar (Flask, Rails, Node.js)
- React, Next.js or similar frontend frameworks (AngularJS, Vue.js)

Experience with Git, Docker, and DevOps practices
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong testing and debugging skills
- Excellent teamwork and individual contributor skills
- Ability to champion new ideas and develop creative approaches
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced work environment
- Hustle and drive to take initiative and make things happen!
