What you’ll do


 


Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering


 


Location: Vancouver, BC


 


Expected Start Date: 6 January 2025


 


Contract Duration: 8 months


 


Work Hours: 40 hours per week


 



  • Assist in building and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate the software release process

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of new tools and technologies

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of servers, applications, and databases

  • Help with the implementation of cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and support infrastructure scaling

  • Work on containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes

  • Assist in the automation of configuration management and system monitoring

  • Contribute to the documentation of systems and processes

  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of software quality within the team

  • Position requirements

    • Current Year 4 or Year 5 bachelor's student or master's student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

    • Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Golang, JavaScript)

    • Interest in learning about monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)

    • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google, Azure Cloud is a plus

    • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)

    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

    • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment



  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Some experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)

    • Experience with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD, Github CI

    • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols

    • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker

    • Experience or coursework related to DevOps practices is a plus

    • Good communication skills and attention to detail

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 24-40 CAD.
