Job Description:

Relocation: Yes

Provide architectural oversight for the development of new or enhanced products. Work with various product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to create software products containing required features and modifications. Provide technical mentoring to department personnel and advice and expertise to other departments within the company.
Key Duties & Responsibilities (in decreasing Critical Emphasis order) Work with various programming and product groups within the company to ensure that required features and modifications are in the appropriate releases to support cross-product features. Design software modules that will work together to produce desired product. Ensures completed modules provide all functionality described by application experts and meet performance guidelines. Provide high-level analysis, design reviews, and technical mentoring to other members and groups within the department to ensure high quality product development. Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company's products. Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products. Provide assistance to less experienced architects and product development personnel. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Minimum Requirements Formal Education: Advanced degree in software engineering, computer science, or computer engineering or equivalent required; PhD preferred. Experience (type & duration): Requires 20 plus years of technical experience in commercial product development. Skills: Extensive knowledge of software design, development processes, and implementation. Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation and organization skills. High technical knowledge of broad business areas. Working Conditions/Travel Office Environment. Development environment is Visual Basic on Windows. May require domestic and international travel.
