Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


•    Make the plan to characterize photonics IC performance, including both DC performance test and RF bandwidth related test.
•    Design, setup and maintain optical and electrical test environment with the use of right equipment.
•    Hands-on implement test procedures for silicon photonics chips and SIP based optical subsystems 
•    Design and implement test procedures for optical subassemblies including lasers, micro-optics, free-space optics, as well as associated electronic devices such as TIAs, laser/modulator drivers, and SerDes chips
•    Design and debug test methods and fixtures to characterize optical alignment systems
•    Hands-on test data collection, analysis and presentation
•    Renew and upload documents related to operation of test systems if needed
•    Responsible for providing design feedback to development engineering to improve device performance
•    Maintain test equipment and instrument calibration, identify and purchase test parts
 


Education & Experience



  • A minimum of 2 years of industry experience preferred, or less experienced candidate with exceptional track record of related work 

  • BS or above in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optics and Optical Engineering, Physics or related field 


Skills


•    Hands on experience with optical chip, component and system-level prototyping and testing for Telecommunications or Data Center Interconnect (DCI) product development. 
•    Working knowledge and experience with manufacturing support, such as optical component testing and performance evaluation. 
•    Fluent in programming skills in a PC/Windows environment using C, Python to enable test scripting and automation
•    Data collection, analysis and reporting data analysis software such as JMP, Matlab, and MS Office.
•    Self-motivated, creative, teamwork oriented
