NSIS - Network Engineer

Intelligent Technology, LLC, a Wood River Federal company, is seeking a Network Systems Implementation Support (NSIS) networking professional to work on a full-scale networking services project for multiple customers worldwide. The project encompasses design, analysis, testing, implementation and installation, site acceptance testing, and project management for network engineering efforts at all network levels. 


 


Job Duties:



  • Install and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls according to project requirements and industry best practices.

  • Configure management ports on firewalls for remote access and administration.

  • Collaborate with network/security engineers for secure access to the management port.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network/security projects and initiatives.

  • Document firewall installations and processes through network diagrams and trip reports.

  • Maintain accurate records of firewall serial numbers for inventory management purposes.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in firewalls and network security.

  • Physically survey Communications Equipment Location (CELs).

  • Ability to travel up to 50% CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any network issues that may arise during implementation.

  • Implement and integrate multi-vendor upgrades into environments (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, HP, Foundry, etc.) and firewalls (i.e., Sidewinder, Palo Alto, Source Fire, etc.).


 


Skill Requirements:



  • Professional Level Certification (g., CCNP, CCDP, JNCIS, JNCDS, etc.) or Associate Level Certification (e.g. CCNA, JNCIA) with 5 years relevant professional experience.

  • IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Sec+, CCNP Security, etc.).

  • SECRET security clearance required.


 


Desired Skills:



  • Experience installing and configuring firewalls or other network equipment.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols and security concepts.

  • Proficiency in firewall management platforms and tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance.

  • Prior experience in network engineering or similar roles preferred.
