Job Description

  • Under general supervision, the candidate is responsible for the mechanical testing of various products which are used by patients with Diabetes for the administration of their therapy regiment.
  • This includes both sharps and non-sharps products.
  • Product testing responsibility will include new product development, line extensions, peripheral devices, quality improvements, the testing of competitive products, and compatibility testing.
  • Other responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment, and support of day to day laboratory function and operation in conjunction with the R&D Engineers. Candidate will write, or participate in the development of testing protocols, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation such as force measurement equipment, linear measurement vision systems, balances, scales and etc.
  • Prepare and document all test data appropriately, and communicate appropriately and accurately, both orally and in writing, to responsible Engineers(s).
  • Coordinate with Metrology in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and devices as required.
  • Under the supervision of the Engineering Lab Manager, the laboratory technician will independently plan and perform experiments that support new product or technology feasibility testing, which may include developing new methodologies or conducting routine procedures
  • Assist in the planning and analysing of experiments and reporting the results to project leadership via data forms, oral presentation or technical reports; Serve as a technical expert on laboratory instrumentation, including, but not limited to, robotic workstations, automated analysis instrumentation, and general laboratory equipment
