Full Stack Developer (E-Commerce)

The Full Stack Developer will be instrumental in building and enhancing TASCHEN's digital ecosystem. Working with Shopify, Akeneo PIM, and Makaira.io CMS, you will ensure these platforms are fully integrated, optimized, and support the business's growth. You will also contribute to designing new website layouts and managing the ONIX feed, which utilizes HTML for data exchange.

This is a hands-on development role with an emphasis on creating and maintaining a best-in-class online presence for TASCHEN. The bosition is ​bases in our office in London, UK.

• Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of TASCHEN’s digital platforms.
• Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance user experience and meet branding standards.
• Optimize and manage Akeneo PIM, including API-based integrations with Shopify and other platforms.
• Configure and develop Makaira.io CMS to support a seamless digital content workflow.
• Build and maintain APIs to ensure efficient communication between Shopify, Akeneo PIM, Makaira.io CMS, and third-party tools.
• Collaborate with the digital team to create and update the website layout that reflect TASCHEN's visual identity and functional needs.
• Optimize website performance, ensuring fast load times and a smooth user experience.
• Monitor, debug, and resolve technical issues across platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry security standards and data protection regulations.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements to existing systems.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a full-stack developer, with a focus on eCommerce platforms.
• Proven experience with platform integrations and managing data flows between systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement visually appealing, functional website layouts.
• Frontend: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Backend: Strong experience with Node.js, PHP, or Ruby on Rails.
• Expertise in Shopify development, including Liquid, custom theme creation, and Shopify APIs.
• Experience with Akeneo PIM configuration, API integration, and customization.
• Familiarity with Makaira.io CMS or other headless CMS platforms
• Strong knowledge of building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience managing ONIX feeds and working with HTML for metadata formatting.
• Proficiency with Git version control and working within CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
