Testing Engineer

We are looking for a full-time, experienced and self-motivated Testing Engineer (II) to join our Engineering Team to be responsible for the test automation for our line of connected solutions, including designing, developing, and executing automated test plans to ensure the highest quality of our products.  Working closely with the development, product management, and Quality Assurance teams to identify testing requirements and drive the implementation of automated testing solutions.  

 

 Hampton Products, located in south Orange County, CA, is a privately-owned, middle-market branded consumer solutions designer, developer, and marketer of innovative solutions in the security hardware, decorative hardware, storm and screen door hardware, and automotive accessories categories. 

                          

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts for connected smart products.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product functionality and identify test automation needs.
  • Conduct performance, regression, and functional testing to ensure product reliability and robustness.
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to resolve defects. Makes recommendations as needed.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for test automation and quality assurance, train others as needed.
  • Continuously improve test automation processes and methodologies to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in test automation technologies.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and documentation to communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders.

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and no less than 5 years of progressive experience in test automation, with focus on embedded systems or IoT devices, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Extensive experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless technologies including Bluetooth, NFC, and cellular technologies, protocols, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proven solid experience with test certification, including FCC compliance, UL, Bluetooth, and CE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.  
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
