The Embedded Systems Engineer works closely with the Embedded Systems engineering team to develop our current and future products. Your role is to create viable solutions to real world problems using your background in mechanical, systems and electrical engineering. You will work with the development team to design, prototype, and iterate on new product designs that save people’s lives.
What You’ll Do
Be the bridge between Mechanical, Electrical and Systems Engineering to build new products
Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Altium Designer) to design and simulate hardware components, such as PCBs, enclosures, and other mechanical structures
Working with the Embedded Systems engineering team on the design and development of new products
Maintaining and improving the current products and resolving issues
Bring your knowledge and familiarity with regulatory compliance testing such as compliance related to performance and safety
Performing design reviews and writing technical reports and specifications
Assisting in the development and execution of test set-ups to troubleshoot and resolve product issues reported by team members and customers
Working closely with the product testing staff for field testing
Coordinating projects, making detailed plans, risk assessments and mitigation plans and schedules to deliver on assigned goals

Working closely with the product management team to drive the product development roadmap
Providing status reports to Wearables & Digital Biomarkers Leadership
Work closely with stakeholders, including clinicians, grant writers, and other engineering teams, to rapidly prototype next generation product designs
This is Hybrid position with expectation for you to go to office 2-3 days/week
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
3+ years of product development experience especially with connected devices, sensors and/or wearables with a proficiency in using CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Altium Designer) for designing and modeling hardware components.
Must be within commutable distance of Portland OR
Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python for embedded systems
