Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS infrastructure buildout, Java software development, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Linux Administration. Additionally, knowledge of PCI and SOX compliance, proficiency in using Tenable or similar security tools for vulnerability scanning and remediation, Python programming skills, and familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic are essential. Experience with AWS container services such as ECS and EKS is also required. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions to support our software development and deployment processes. The job also includes analyzing log files, error messages, and other relevant data to identify the root cause of problems and involves on-call pager coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications and services.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Administer and manage Linux-based systems and servers.
  • Utilize Ansible for configuration management and automation of deployment processes.
  • Ensure infrastructure and processes comply with PCI and SOX regulations.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans using tools such as Tenable, analyze identified security vulnerabilities, and implement remediation measures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts and automation tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Utilize APM tools such as New Relic to monitor application and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure for enhanced scalability and reliability.
  • Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using AWS ECS and EKS.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in cloud computing, DevOps, and automation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AWS infrastructure buildout and management.
  • Proven experience in Java software development.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong Linux administration skills.
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Knowledge of PCI and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using Tenable or similar security tools for vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic.
  • Experience with AWS ECS and EKS for container orchestration.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
  • Experience with AWS ECS and EKS for managing and orchestrating containerized applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
  • Expertise in Terraform and CloudFormation for IaC.
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Knowledge of Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic.

Compliance Skills:

  • Understanding of PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements.
  • Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and its implications for IT infrastructure.
