Data Migration Test Engineer

The Data Migration Test Engineer provides expertise for the validation of the Data Migration initiative, including:

• Evaluating the overall Data Migration Validation solution needed specific to the engagement.


• Working with Technical Staff at the Client site to put Data Migration Validation infrastructure and systems in place to support the Data Migration Validation solution needs


• Working closely with Software Development Vendor


• Preparing a test plan for the data validation effort


• Planning, monitoring, and managing data validation activities


• Data Validation Test Script Development


• Data Validation Test Scripting and modification for reuse


• Confirmation of test environments/databases for Data Validation readiness


• Sequencing of scripted test cases


• Logging of Data Validation defects


• Defect reporting and management for Data Validation effort


• Becoming an expert in existing Data Management for legacy systems


• Working closely with the Development Vendor DBA, the Data Specialists for the Client, etc.


• Expert in Data Conversions and Data Validation


• Validating Data Integrity throughout the systems/interfaces


• Identifying technical strategies and requirements related to Data Management in the test approach per engagement

Engaging in all test data specifications and involvement per engagement: data needs, cleansing, development, database schema knowledge, etc.
