As an Advanced Data Engineer, you will leverage your talent to help drive NNL's digital transformation. You have the opportunity the work on a wide range of data engineering roles including:
- Developing ETL processes and pipelines,
- Collaborating with analysts and designers to deliver high-quality data solutions,
- Developing and maintaining data models,
- Implement data governance practices,
- Assist in the evaluation and integration of new data technologies and tools.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and processing.
- Knowledge of big data technology (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
