Position Summary: As a cybersecurity engineer responsible for protecting computer networks and systems from unauthorized access, data theft, and other cyber-attacks, you will work with a team of cybersecurity professionals to identify and mitigate risks to the organization's computer systems, networks, and data. In this role, you will perform a wide range of cybersecurity duties, including vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, threat hunting, incident response, and security testing.


The ideal candidate would be an individual with a solid foundational knowledge base with documented experience in cybersecurity. The individual also would possess a strong self-drive and be capable of working autonomously to solve problems, self-educate, stay current on emerging cyber trends and threats while assisting the team to meet the company’s objectives with its cybersecurity program.


 


Job Duties and Responsibilities include:



  • Conduct vulnerability assessments across a variety of technologies and platforms, proactively identify security risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Implementation, configuration, and tuning of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint host security solutions.

  • Design and implement security measures for cloud-based systems and applications to include access controls, encryption, network controls, and detective controls.

  • Monitor network traffic and security logs to identify potential security events.

  • Respond to security incidents, assist in data collection, and analysis of forensic artifacts.

  • Participate in security testing, evaluation of security controls, and remediation strategies.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the team on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and suggest processing improvements related to the company's cybersecurity program.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%

Required Education and Experience:


·       3-5 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.


·       Foundational level security certification (CASP+, GSEC, SSCP).


·       Desired: Intermediate-level cloud security certification (AWS, Azure, GCP).


·       Working knowledge of standard security tools, best practices, and security frameworks.


·       Working knowledge of Windows and Linux.


·       Working knowledge of Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform.
