Managing the day-to-day operations of Global compute workloads in Motorola’s cloud and on-premise environments by monitoring system performance, configuration and maintenance.
Respond to and resolve help desk requests, provide assistance on a follow-the-sun model with occasional after-hours work required to support our global department.
Performing troubleshooting as required for OS and Cloud infrastructure issues. Lead problem solving efforts involving other support organizations or outside vendors.
Developing and enhancing processes and procedures leveraging scripting (Python, Perl, Bash) and cloud native automation features to enhance automation capabilities.
Collaborating with the larger Cloud Compute team and architects to develop and enhance standards of Cloud automation and support.
Providing capacity analysis and cost optimization recommendations for the environment.
Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical resources.
Ensuring that all systems comply with security patching and vulnerability recommendations, and that sufficient automation tools exist to ease administration overhead.
Assist in developing automation standards for provisioning of cloud based resources.
Engage with Cloud Architects and provide feedback for projects that require Linux based solutions.
Upgrading systems and processes as required to enhance functionality and address security issues.
Implement and maintain security measures and controls, including firewall configurations, patch management, and intrusion detection systems.
Maintaining the integrity of daily backups, verifying backup completion and data retention as well as storage (Both on-prem and cloud).
Manage and test disaster recovery plans.
Document configurations, changes, and procedures.
Staying current on latest technologies in Cloud and Linux spaces and make recommendations to take advantage of new features or technologies.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of hands on Linux/Microsoft system administration experience
2+ years of AWS and VMware experience
Lenovo OnTap Storage/NetAPP
Veritas NetBackup
CIFS/SMB administration experience
Security Clearance:
Must have the ability to pass Police security clearance and Australian Defense NV1 Clearance to administer the Australian Infrastructure.
Required Skills :
Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools such as ServiceNow.
Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator and Cloud Administrator with a strong understanding of Linux internals.
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing hybrid cloud environments.
Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
Experience being in an on call rotation
Experience in developing administration scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl.
Experience troubleshooting issues with DNS, Network, Firewalls, Share and File Permissions, Application and Operating System functionality
Experience with AWS services like EC2, ELB, S3, Route 53.
Self-motivated team player who demonstrates initiative and flexibility.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience in access control, user authentication, and service security
Automation including Infrastructure as Code, using Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet
AWS, OCI, GCP and Azure Cloud Certification.
Containerization and Kubernetes.
Work Environment:
This position may require being on-call periodically and working outside of standard business hours, including weekends and evenings, to resolve issues as they arise and to perform scheduled maintenance.
