Job Description:
Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing an unfailingly safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission, called theΒ SMR-300Β small modular reactor. The position is offered by SMR LLC as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry.
The Thermal-Hydraulics Test Engineer will be responsible for preparing technical documents related to test requirements and design information, as well as reviewing and processing documents from supplier deliverables. Additionally, they will be responsible on-site for witnessing testing, approving test commencement, and approving test completion.
The ideal Thermal-Hydraulics Test Engineer will have in-depth experience with developing and applying test requirements and procedures. They will also have experience with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B compliant quality assurance programs (e.g. NQA-1). Knowledge of commercial nuclear licensing and operation is desirable.
Job Responsibilities and Duties: Β
Receive and process supplier deliverables related to testing.
Prepare technical documents related to testing such as test requirements, test procedures, specifications, etc...
Perform testing in accordance with a test procedure to include serving as a test witness, as well as post processing and visualization of data.
Technical support for problem solving.
Develop understanding of test facilities based on existing process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Review of test documents and test reports.
Support testing program requirements.
Hands on experience solving first of a kind test problems.
Minimum Requirements: Β
B.S. degree in engineering field.
Experience in laboratory experimentation including procedure and report writing as well as data processing.
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar data processing software is required.
Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems and provide recommendations in a timely manner.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the year and be deployed to site for approximately month-long periods if Camden based.
Demonstrated technical writing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to solve problems and make sound engineering judgments.
Must be able to work independently and in team settings on specific tasks, and to prioritize multiple tasks.
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
System code thermal-hydraulic analysis experience is desired (e.g. RELAP)
