Job Description

The Global Network Services team is responsible for architecting, delivering, securing, and operating the global network and security infrastructure within the following core functions:  LAN/WAN/WLAN, Internet, Remote Access, Firewalls, Proxy, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), PAM (Privileged Access Management), NAC (Network Access Control), Network Monitoring solutions, Data Center Networks, Business Partner Access and Cloud based Networking implementations. The team is distributed across all global regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC) and operates a follow-the-sun support model providing global 24x7 advanced level support for Network and Security infrastructure technologies; acting as the escalation point for the Operations Support Centre, the Software Development Organization, Local Support Teams and other IT Infrastructure and Applications Support areas.  The team also works closely with the cybersecurity organization focusing on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and emphasizing holistic security - with a focus on Zero Trust. 

Responsibilities

The Network Engineer should be able to perform the following essential activities under general direction:

  • Installation, maintenance, and support of Network and Security Infrastructure device system software and hardware
  • Analytics, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex Network and Security Infrastructure issues including on premise and cloud environments
  • Administer the application of company data security policies
  • Provide Network and Security Infrastructure support for all other IT functions and end users as required
  • Complete project tasks and lead small technical projects
  • Serve as a contact to vendors
  • Make recommendations for improving system performance and uptime
  • New technology evaluation and implementation

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferable in a computer-related field with 6 to 10 years’ experience in Network and Security technologies
  • Cisco network experience – working extensively with Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Cisco network design, TAC support experience, and deployment of Cisco LAN Catalyst and Nexus, WAN ISR and ASR products
  • Routing and Performance Experience – Implementation and Troubleshooting of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and QoS/CoS Policies
  • Troubleshooting – Complex LAN and WAN routing, spanning tree and general network health problems. Experience in dealing with Service Providers for overseeing Layer 1, 2, 3 issues
  • Knowledge of switching – to CCNP level preferred
  • Customer service skills – Experience in working with an Enterprise Ticketing system such as ServiceNow, managing incident SLA’s and handling customer communications in a polite and detailed manner either via the ticketing system, chat tool or by phone
  • Cisco Certifications – CCNP or equivalent Preferred
  • Effective English written and oral communication skills
  • Experience within the following areas:  LAN/WAN/WLAN, Internet, Remote Access, Firewalls, Proxy, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), PAM (Privileged Access Management) NAC (Network Access Control), Network monitoring solutions
  • Experience with Cloud technologies and providers
