As an engineering intern on the Platform Team at Uber Freight, you develop and support distributed micro-services that power the lifecycle of shipments on the platform. You will also maintain Freightβs search infrastructure, making sure it scales as we ingest more data and handle more users.
At your disposal will be the tools that helped Uber grow to be a worldwide company, as well as new and upcoming tech from our Compute, Platform, Search, and Infra teams.

Basic Qualifications
Actively pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical subject area.Good experience with at least one programming language preferably in Java, Go, or Python.Proven software engineering experience through previous internships, work experience, hackathons, coding challenges, and/or publications.Ability to work at Frisco, Texas, Chicago, IL or San Francisco locationsAbility to work full-time, 40 hours, between 6/2/2025 - 08/08/2025

Experience building Search infrastructures, Indexing pipelinesExperience with Search technologies (Lucene, ElasticSearch, Solr)Knowledge of stream/batch processing engines (Apache Spark, Apache Flink)Experience working with microservicesExperience with storage technologies (SQL, Hive)
