The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring a Software Engineering Intern. The Software Engineering Intern will be responsible for software development & implementation of test applications, coding, and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software for internal and external customers. The intern will write programs according to given specifications using tools like JIRA, Git, AWS and languages like Python, JavaScript or C#. The intern will collaborate across departments to learn and understand problems with software.
Essential Job Duties:
Software development & design, (installing, configuring, testing), project plans and verificationKnowledgeable of software development concepts, process, and toolsMaintaining and upgrading existing software applications written in different programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C, C++, VB6, VB.NET)Assist in creating reports, memos, status updatesAbility to quickly learn new technologiesInvestigate customer issues for software performance to identify product solutionsMaintain confidentiality of company intellectual property and customer information
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related fieldIntermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft productsProgramming experience in Python, C#, JavaScript, or other object-oriented languagesDoes not require sponsorship or future sponsorship (OPT, CPT, F1, H1B)Undergraduate students only (Dec 2025 or later graduation date)First preference given to WI students
