Position Overview
Software Engineers at Trimble Transportation are responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining our products. This specific position is focused on full stack web development and maintenance.
This position requires a fundamentally strong coder and a persistent problem solver who: 1) has a bias for experimenting, iterating quickly, and offering ideas, 2) has the ability and the desire to work within a large existing code base which is relied upon by many important customers, and 3) who is curious to build and share knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain software applications for both internal and external useCreate well-designed and efficient APIs for internal and external consumption Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications Develop database schemas and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and storageDeploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, specifically Azure, ensuring scalability, availability, and securityBuild reliable process monitoring, auditing, and reporting tools
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in CS from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent experienceStrong coding, debugging, problem-finding, and problem-solving skillsExperience with one or more programming languages (such as C#, C++, Java, TypeScript or other modern languages)Experience using relational databases and SQL.Experience with source control, like gitExcellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsEye for detail, intimate familiarity with industry development standards/best practices, and a strong inclination to automate repetitive tasks, including functional testing.
Preferred Skills
Experience with DockerKnowledge of the transportation industryExperience with public clouds, like Azure or AWS
