Job description

Willow is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to help us build the future of real estate investing. This position is great for a passionate developer who wants to work with cutting-edge technologies, be part of a tight-knit team and bring an exciting new product to life. We’re looking for a talented candidate who can hit the ground running.

About us

Willow is a real estate investing platform that allows anyone to build a custom portfolio of rent-generating properties across Canada with as little as $100. We operate an online marketplace and exchange where people can buy, sell and own portions of individual properties without the hassle that comes with homeownership. Learn more at willow.ca.

We are registered with the Ontario Securities Commission as an Exempt Market Dealer. We have multiple real estate properties lined up to sell on our platform. We are launching our MVP product in January. We are well-funded and have plans to build out numerous features designed to disrupt the real estate industry.


Responsibilities

• This is a senior level role, and we are looking for someone who is ready for the challenge.

• Collaborate with our established, talented team of developers to build high-quality, scalable, user-friendly systems for our customers

• Design and lead the construction of advanced features

• Assist in bug fixing and removing technical debt in our existing code base

• Evangelize proper design and coding standards

• Mentor and coach other developers in your area(s) of expertise

• Learn our existing backend and frontend code

• Participate in Test and DevOps responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of company goals and initiatives


Ideal qualifications

• Intelligent, experienced, self-starter, who can write code quickly, while maintaining a high level of quality.

• Interest in learning new technologies

• Experience or interest in: React, JavaScript, Java, SpringBoot, Hibernate, Cloud computing platforms (e.g. Google Cloud), Kubernetes, Docker, OAuth2, MySQL DB, Redis, Message Queues, Terraform.

• Experience or interest in DevOps and working with SRE tools.

• Ability to pivot quickly to changing business requirements as we fine tune our product offering.
