- Ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Architect and optimize database structures to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval for the adjudication system.
- Implement backend functionalities and business logic to support the business processes. ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Advise leadership and technology team on project status and opportunities for improvement.
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
- Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

- Ability to work with external APIs to utilize for internal business processes
- Find cost-effective solutions to improve monthly development costs and mentor junior developers on how to develop in a cost-effective manner.
- Mentor junior developers to ensure they adhere to best coding practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems in unknown situations and provide effective feedback on a path forward.
- Ability to work independently and make logical business decisions given general guidance.
- Ability to consolidate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional working groups.
- Working knowledge of prescription claim electronic data interchange along with the overall reimbursement cycle for pharmacies.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management, especially around adjudication, formularies, and pricing is a significant plus.
- Ability to communicate at all management levels within an organization, including internal, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Ability to communicate with outside vendors and their technical teams to create shared solutions for business problems.
Supervisory Responsibility
This may have supervisory responsibilities where performance management and accountability of employee performance is essential.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time, salary/exempt position.
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT. We cover clients from West to East Coast, work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays pursuant with industry demands.
Travel
This position may require minimal travel (1% - 5%) from their remote location.
Required Education and Experience
- Ten years of software engineering experience
- Four years of software engineering experience in a healthcare finance setting, preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
- Direct experience in the healthcare finance field, especially in the management of self-funded medical benefit plans or healthcare provider connectivity
- Working knowledge of MediSpan drug data
