The Manager, Network Engineering is responsible for leading a diverse team of network engineers in the design, implementation, and management of RBG’s network infrastructure. This role ensures that the organization's network operations are efficient, secure, and scalable to meet current and future business needs. The Network Engineering Manager collaborates with various departments to align network systems with organizational goals and ensures seamless communication and connectivity across all global sites.


The position involves both strategic planning and hands-on leadership to drive network projects, maintain operational excellence, and enhance the organization's overall network capabilities, ensuring they meet both current and future demands.


What you'll be doing:


Leadership and Team Management:



  • Lead, manage and mentor a team of network engineers, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and knowledge to support a complex network infrastructure. Mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Assign roles and responsibilities effectively, ensuring the team’s workload is balanced and aligned with project priorities. Oversee the day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting escalations and resource allocation for critical network support tasks.


Set clear goals, monitor team performance, and conduct regular performance reviews. Address performance issues proactively and implement development plans to optimize team output


Strategic planning and Design:



  • Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, and resilient global network architecture that spans on-premises data centers, cloud environments, and remote locations. This includes LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for all users and locations.

  • Architect solutions that integrate cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) with on-premises systems, enabling a hybrid network that is robust, secure, and capable of handling dynamic workloads. Ensure that networks can handle high levels of traffic, meet latency requirements, and are optimized for performance.

  • Develop and execute network strategies aligned with the company's long-term technology roadmap, including planning for capacity, scalability, and redundancy.


Manage the network infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while meeting performance and security requirements


Project Management:



  • Manage large-scale network projects such as upgrades, expansions, and migration. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.


Act as the point of contact for network-related issues and communicate project status and critical issues with senior management and other stakeholders.


Operations and Maintenance:



  • Implement tools and processes to continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security. Use network performance monitoring (NPM) and network analytics platforms to gain visibility into traffic patterns, bottlenecks, and anomalies. Proactively identify issues before they impact users.

  • Lead the incident response process for network-related outages or performance degradations, ensuring rapid resolution of issues and thorough root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence. Establish escalation protocols for critical incidents and lead post-incident reviews.

  • design and implement redundancy strategies such as failover mechanisms, load balancing, and multi-path routing to ensure high availability of critical network services. Ensure business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested for network recovery.


Continuously assess network capacity, usage trends, and future needs. Ensure the network infrastructure is capable of scaling to meet growth in traffic, user demand, and new application requirements.


Cross-functional Collaboration:



  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for network architecture.


Work closely with IT Infrastructure teams to coordinate network requirements and solutions supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments.


Innovation and Continuous Improvement:



  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in networking technologies. Evaluate new technologies to determine their potential value to the organization, leading pilot programs and rolling out new solutions when appropriate.

  • Lead initiatives to automate routine network tasks such as provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and issue resolution. Leverage tools such as network orchestration platforms, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to drive operational efficiency.


Continuously review and refine network operations processes to improve efficiency and reliability. Develop and document best practices for network operations, and encourage a culture of innovation and improvement within the network engineering team.


Vendor Management:


Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and technology vendors, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met. This includes managing contracts, support, and procurement.


Qualifications:



  • 5 Years management, 10 years in IT.

  • University degree in the field of computer science or information systems or equivalent experience
