GovStaff is seeking a mid-career Cisco Network Engineer for a key permanent long term opening we have under a recently awarded long term contract in Quantico, VA. Position is fully onsite with no hybrid or remote work options.

The candidate we're seeking should have an interest in being instrumental in the long term engineering, operation, and maintenance of secure data communications networks. Position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and hands-on experience in a range of networking domains. The professional contribution of the selected candidate will be crucial in ensuring robust and efficient networking solutions for the organization.

 

Key Position Duties / Responsibilities:




  •  Planning and overseeing the installation of communication circuits.


  • Configuring and supporting Cisco Access Control System (ACS), Cisco Call Manager, and Cisco Meeting Server


  • Engineering and supporting Cisco and Linux-based router platforms, including Cisco Firepower and Cisco ISE.

  •       Engineering and supporting video teleconferencing equipment and Voice over IP systems.

  •       Managing and monitoring local area networks (LANs) and associated equipment such as routers, switches, and gateways.

  •       Assisting in the integration of service delivery for LANs, Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), and Wide Area Networks (WANs), including planning, design, installation, maintenance, and management.

  •       Identifying and resolving network issues across various infrastructures.

  •       Aiding in the technical and architectural changes to customer LANs/MANs/WANs.


  •       Developing detailed network design diagrams and documentation.


  •          Recommending technical solutions and innovations to management.


 



  • Candidate Qualifications/Experience: 




  •                Minimum Two to three (2-3) years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including design and retrofitting.

  •    Proficiency in Cisco DNA Center and SD-WAN technologies.

  •          Expertise in Cisco Linux, Cisco routers, and IPSEC implementations.

  •          Familiarity with high latency networks using satellite and cellular broadband transport.

  •          Demonstrated experience in OSPF/BGP routing protocols.

  •          Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification highly desired.


  •          Highly motivated individual with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
