The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining networking concepts, cloud technologies, and security best practices. The Network Engineer will also occasionally visit client locations off site for troubleshooting, installations, and consultations.

Primary Responsibilities:


The incumbent may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the Mission, Core Values and Operating Principles of MedVanta.


1.       Designs, implements, and manages network/cloud infrastructure routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.


2.       Deploys and maintains cloud-based services and solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).


3.       Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of network and cloud solutions.


4.       Monitors network performance and ensures high availability and reliability.


5.       Troubleshoots network and cloud-related issues both remotely and onsite as required.


6.       Provides technical guidance and support to clients during offsite visits.


7.       Conducts regular security assessments and implements necessary measures to safeguard network and cloud environments.


8.       Installs, repairs, replaces, configures, and test network equipment. May involve procurement of network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.


9.       Documents network configurations, processes, and procedures.


10.    Maintains up to date knowledge of the latest networking and cloud technologies and trends.


11.    Provides tier II support to support desk staff.


12.    Works with leadership and IT team to develop, implement, and improve disaster recovery procedures.


13.    Reports network status, cases, and project progress to Director of IT and Data Security and key stakeholders.


14.    Performs other duties as assigned.


Reporting Relationships:


The Network Engineer reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and Data Security. This role does not have any direct reports.


Required Education and Experience:


1.       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Commensurate experience (minimum of 5 years) may be considered.


2.       Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are preferred but not required.


3.       Proven experience working as a Network/Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.


4.       Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.


5.       Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).


6.       Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same or a similar role, preferably in an organization and environment similar to MedVanta.


7.       Proven experience successfully collaborating across multiple functional areas and departments.


8.   Proven experience successfully innovating in a fast-growing work environment while dealing with ambiguity as a self-starter with integrity and a driven work ethic.

Physical Demands:


1.       Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds. 


2.       Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when performing desk duties. 


3.       Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting.


4.       Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone.


5.       Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.


6.       Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens.
