A DAY IN THE LIFE:


Technically leads Software Systems Test Supervisors and Testers in software product verification for conforming with product requirements, scope, test plans, and quality guidelines. Works closely with matrixed project team leaders for on-time product commercialization. Communicates test status and escalates risks to cross-functional teams in a timely manner. Leads continuous test process improvements and manages test tools, requirements, & environments. Provides support for employee concerns and serves as an escalation point. Responsible for leading hiring activities, employee training, performance management, employee engagement, effective conflict resolution, and enforcing company policies.



  • Lead end-to-end systems testing across multiple device hardware, software, mobile applications, and cloud-based products.

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure the highest product quality while ensuring on-time delivery.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with System Engineering, Development, Project Management, Test, Quality, Operations, etc. to identify project scope & product requirements, define test requirements, environments, & deliverables, and review test plans & strategies.

  • Oversee creation, maintenance, and execution of test automation frameworks and scripts.

  • Identify, report, & track defects, and work closely with development teams for quick resolution.

  • Communicate test progress, results, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Document test scope, plans, and reports in electronic document management systems.

  • Continuously improve test processes to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provides technical leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship to test supervisors & staff.

  • Develops & coaches direct reports, provides timely & consistent performance feedback to address gaps, sets annual goals, and completes annual performance processes.

  • Responsible for hiring activities, interview processes, and selection of top talent.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate priorities, risks, and timelines to stakeholders.

  • Deep experience in product commercialization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience in test automation, test management tools, and defect tracking systems.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

  • Able to review and critique product requirements and software design for testability.

  • Adept at finding test process improvement opportunities and delivering execution.

  • Ability to effectively mentor others in software test methodologies and test automation.

  • Talent acquisition and interviewing skills.

  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred.


EXTRA AWESOME:



  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.

  • 7 plus years of experience in system testing and product commercialization, with a focus on device hardware, software, mobile applications, and cloud environments.

  • 2 plus years of experience in test leadership or equivalent role, preferred. Experience leading and coordinating activities between cross-functional teams, strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:


The starting base pay range for this position is $145,900 - $186,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
