The person in this role will have extensive technical, people and process skillsets that enable us to successfully deliver on this initiative. The position requires a strong background in application architecture and development, a very good understanding of leading IT technologies. The person in this role will be hands-on, will contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of platforms as a member of an agile scrum team. This is an opportunity to work within a very strong development team and help to develop challenging new products in the financial space using cutting edge technology.

What you will be responsible for

As an Application Developer you will

  • Work independently to develop, test, and debug software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domains
  • Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using cloud computing using Java, Spring boot, SQL, Kafka and ReactJS or similar frameworks.
  • Designing applications and handling them independently
  • Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality end product
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
  • Triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions

  • Good understanding and working experience in full-stack software development lifecycle and services delivery.
  • Demonstrated expertise in software architecture, designing scalable systems, and optimizing performance in the domain of UI, middleware, database, security, and API's.
  • Proficiency in engineering best practices, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and producing clean, testable code, and SOLID principles.
  • Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, web browsers and working experience using front-end frameworks such as HTML5, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, jQuery, and React JS.
  • Experience in Core Java 11 - Multithreading, Exception handling, Garbage collection, Memory management.
  • Strong experience in J2EE related technologies (Java Beans, JSP,JDBC, JMS, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate etc)
  • Experience with any message broker technologies ( Rabbit, Kafka, IBM MQ etc)
  • Experience in API styles like SOAP, REST, RPC, gRPC.
  • Experience working on data bases (SQL and NO SQL) such  as MS SQL, ORCALE, MY SQL, Cassandra, Mongo DB etc
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm
  • Knowledge and working experience with DevOps implementation and automated CI/CD pipeline using Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, SoapUI, JMeter, Selenium, and other similar tools
  • Experience in unit testing, mocking and integration testing
  • Should have experience in developing the re-usable components in both front-end and back-end technologies.
  •  Work with other team members for one or more Agile scrum teams assigned to work on the project in parallel.
  • Candidate should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in micro-services architecture and understanding of Cloud Computing is highly desirable

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree level qualification in a computer or IT related subject
  • 10+ years of experience in professional software development
  • 10+ years of experience in Core Java 11, J2EE, Tomcat, Spring Boot framework like Spring Core, Spring REST, Spring MS,Spring AOP,Apache Quartz
  • 7+ years of experience on ReactJS, frontend tools like Babel, Webpack, npm, jQuery, etc
  • 7+ years of experience in UI development, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, HighCharts, JQuery development
  • 7+ years of DB development experience on relational and non-relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake
  • 5+ years of experience working on cloud-based development on Azure or AWS including Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Framework

Additional requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner both written and orally
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, initiative, and self-motivation
  • Ability to multi-task, meet aggressive timelines and have strong work ethics
  • Experience of working in the financial industry
  • Experience with agile development methodology
  • Any experience on Databricks, Scala and Snowflake is plus
  • Experience on Cosmos DB, Apache Airflow is plus

Salary Range:

$130,000 - $212,500 Annual
