The Opportunity:
Spectral is a seven-year $1.2B program to provide the U.S. Navy's next-generation SIGINT, EMW, and IO weapon system. The Spectral system is critical to the ability for our forces to fight and win in the increasingly sophisticated and complex EW threats of our adversaries.
We are seeking a Java DevOps Developer to join our team who will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing Java software components in a scalable architecture. You should be familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and able to accurately assess story points and complete tasking within estimates. Familiarity with data formats associated with signals intelligence, signals processing and signals messaging is a plus, but direct signal data application experience is not necessary.
Responsibilities:
Perform application development and support
Understand and apply development design patterns.
Understand and apply design methodologies including Object-Oriented Design and Analysis and Domain-Driven Design
Understand and leverage common architectural styles and patterns (SOA, Microservice, Layered, Clean, Event Sourcing, CQRS, etc.)
Understand and apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, java performance analysis, continuous integration)
Problem and modification identification, classification, and prioritization
Design and development of RESTful APIs
Experience with relational (postgres) and non-relational (opensearch) databases
Creation and maintenance of system documentation and artifacts
Provide support for critical production issues
Experience with Git or Jenkins
Experience with containers and container orchestration
Experience with helm and quarkus
Work with development teams to containerize applications and build Kubernetes configurations for deploying and running the applications in Kubernetes.
Be part of Agile/Scrum cross-functional team and bring your own unique skill set to the table and collaborate with others to accomplish team goals
Technical skills in data management and working knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in an associated discipline or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
5-7 years of software experience of back-end development and container experience
Java 8+, Hibernate, Maven, relational databases (Oracle, Postgresql, etc.), REST Services, Spring Boot
Experience in Agile/Scrum environment
Demonstrates critical thinking to problem-solving
Demonstrates teamwork
Self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines
Able to both work independently and collaborate as part of a team working towards a common enterprise component solution.
Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI clearance preferred.
Desired:
Knowledge of user centric design
Knowledge of and experience with GeoServer, Geospatial data and technologies
Knowledge of maintaining security continuous monitoring Knowledge of DevOps
Technical skills in data management and working knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
Knowledge of docker, podman, containers, Kubernetes, Quarkus and/or helm
Familiarity with messaging technologies, relational and semantic data repositories.
Experience with ArcGIS, GeoServer and/or Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards-based web services such as Web Map Service (WMS), Web Coverage Service (WCS), Web Feature Service (WFS), Web Processing Service (WPS), and Web Map Tile Service (WMTS)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
