The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (May 27, 2025 - August 1, 2025).
Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience, and contributing to various department initiatives. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineering Intern to join our dynamic IT team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data engineering, work on real-world projects, and collaborate with experienced professionals. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field and has a passion for data and technology.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes.Collaborate with the data engineering team to analyze requirements, develop ETL specifications and implement data solutions. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards. Work on assigned projects and tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Document data processes and provide support for data-related improvements. Engage in Agile development processes and contribute to team meetings and discussions.
Qualifications
This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need.Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. Prior Knowledge / experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Azure Data factory will be a plus. Familiarity with ANSI SQL & RDBMS concepts is desired. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data processing frameworks and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop). Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL). Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
