Summary   

The Cloud, Infrastructure, DevSecOps Engineer position will focus on all aspects of design, analysis, implementation and support of systems, software or other solutions pertaining to deploying capabilities to cloud systems.  

 

The candidate will work within a team of software and IT engineers to build high performance, cloud based solutions. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.  

  • Support the adoption of Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Micro-Services.  

  • Support the architecture, design, development, troubleshoot, and implementation of cloud solutions  

  • Work closely with the Information Technology Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant.  

  • Effectively Interface with Customer personnel at varying organizational levels   

  • Must be self-motivated and expected to work independently with minimal supervision  

  • Report status on tasks and assignments  

  • Must be able to generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills.  

  • Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team".  

  • Experience with several of the following tools Gitlab, SonarQube, Nexus, Twistlock/Prisma Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes (Rancher, Openshift, K3S), Linux, AWS/Azure/GCP, and Terraform. 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements  

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field  

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in a specific technology practice (Infrastructure, Network, Storage, Servers, Security, Windows, Linux, etc.) for both on premise and cloud resources  

  • 2+ years network and operating system experience  

  • 2+ years experience in container management technologies like OpenShift, AKS, EKS, Rancher, Docker  

  • Experience using a source code repository such as Git, BitBucket, Mercurial, or Subversion  

  • Experience using a defect management system such as Jira, Bugzilla or Fogbugz  

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies   

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

Preferred Skills  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.  

  • Ability to perform technical briefings to various groups and engineers  

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  

  • Experience using  and deploying RDMS, NoSQL, or Graph databases  

  • Experience managing/implementing server/clients with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services (NetIQ, ADFS, Azure MFA, Keycloak, Red Hat SSO, Duo, SAML, etc.)  

  • Experience scaling applications based on user demand.  

  • Experience working with service-based architectures and Web APIs  

  • IAT Level 2 Certification (e.g. Security +).  

  • Experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JSON.  

  • Experience working and deploying on DOD networks including NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS  

  • Experience with administration of CI/CD pipeline tools.  

  • Administration experience on Microsoft Enterprise CA – Cert Requests/Monitoring.  

  • Administration experience on Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).  

  • Familiarity with Information Assurance programs.  

  • Experience with writing Linux bash scripts  

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Terraform, Cloud Formation, Microsoft Bicep  

  • Any of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).  

  • CompTIA Cloud+  

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert  

  • Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect — Professional 

Security Responsibilities  

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.   

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment  

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Must be able to travel CONUS and to International sites
