About The Role
As a Data Engineer at PEXA, you will play a crucial role in implementing our new modern data stack and ELT pattern, with a focus on a cloud data warehouse. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that support various business needs. Working closely with the Lead and Senior Data Engineers and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that our data infrastructure and models follow modern CI/CD practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data models and pipelines using tools.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data pipeline.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other data professionals to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
- Apply a consultative approach to understand business problems and provide. effective data solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus
- At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including experience with Snowflake or a Cloud Data Warehouse
- Understanding of ELT patterns and modern data engineering practices
- Strong technical expertise in SQL and other programming languages such as T-SQL, Python, or Java
- Experience with One or more ETL tools and technologies, such as Airflow, Airbyte, Fivetran. DBT etc.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Automated Data Testing
- Experience working in a consultative role, understanding business problems and providing effective data solutions.
- Familiarity with data governance, data security, and privacy regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Expertise in database design, performance tuning, and security
- Expertise with Agile methodology and projects.
- Expertise in JIRA, Scrum boards and creating user stories and dashboards in JIRA.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data-related issues.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective interactions with diverse teams and stakeholders.
