CLEARANCE & LEVEL: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
BASE SALARY: (Based on exp.): $100k - $110k
POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position supports the Security Operations Team in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s security posture. This role works closely with the Security Operations Team to help protect information assets, assist in implementing security controls, and contribute to incident response efforts. This role will assist in ensuring compliance with NIST standards and other regulatory requirements, while also helping to address both internal and external security challenges. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Security Engineering Support:
· Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security tools.
· Support the configuration and management of security software and hardware to ensure the protection of the organization's network and data.
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of security architectures and guidelines.
Threat Detection & Monitoring:
· Monitor security alerts and analyze logs for potential threats or incidents.
· Participate in threat detection activities, using security tools to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in the organization’s systems.
· Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures.
Incident Response:
· Support the Incident Response Team in investigating and responding to security incidents, breaches, or attacks.
· Participate in post-incident analysis and reporting, helping to implement lessons learned to strengthen security measures.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of incident response playbooks and procedures.
Compliance & Reporting:
· Assist in ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST) and other regulatory requirements related to security.
· Aid in preparing security reports for internal and external stakeholders, documenting security incidents, compliance status, and risk management activities.
· Contribute to audits and assessments by gathering necessary data and supporting documentation.
Security Awareness & Training:
· Assist in the creation and delivery of security awareness training for staff to promote best practices in cybersecurity.
· Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, and share knowledge with the security team.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of IT and business operations.
· Provide recommendations for improving security processes and practices based on industry trends and evolving threats.
· Participate in security projects and initiatives as assigned by the Senior Director of Security Operations.
· Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.

· 15% - 20% of domestic travel may be required for this role.
